A year ago, Auburn soldier David Waters came home from boot camp to attend the funeral of his mother who was the victim of a still unsolved murder. On Wednesday, Private Waters, only a year out of high school, was himself laid to rest after being killed in Iraq. It is the family's second tragedy in a year. While Waters was at boot camp, his mother Susan was the victim of a still unsolved murder. Waters went to her funeral in his uniform and had a message for her. "His exact words were, 'I will be the man my mother wanted me to be,'" said Smith.
